TALLADEGA, Ala. – Talladega Superspeedway is encouraging race fans traveling to Alabama for the Aaron’s Dream Weekend to bring their golf clubs and hit the links on the legendary Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail (RTJ). The new Fairway to Speedway offer gets race fans two tickets to the Aaron’s 499 and two rounds of golf playable at 9 of the 11 RTJ championship golf courses for only $200, a savings up to 25% off peak prices.

“Talladega Superspeedway and the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail are nationally recognized venues in the great state of Alabama,” said Talladega Superspeedway President Rick Humphrey. “It’s only natural that we combine the strength of our two great brands to welcome visitors from around the country with the Fairway to Speedway offer. Free overnight parks open on Tuesday of race week, leaving race fans Wednesday and Thursday to play golf and enjoy some of the wonderful attractions our state offers. Friday through Sunday can be all about enjoying the thrill of Talladega Superspeedway.”

David StarrMARTINSVILLE, VA., (March 13, 2009) – HT Motorsports/Zachry driver David Starr and his wife Kim welcomed their first son, David Starr Jr., on March 12th at 11:21am.  The proud father and mom are doing well, and Jr. is working his way into the hearts of all that surround him.

“He’s just great,” exclaimed a happy Starr.  “I know everyone says that having a child truly changes you and it really does.  Just looking at him makes me so happy.  It was a great experience for us all.

“People claim that when a NASCAR driver has a child it makes them soft, but I am so proud of him I want to strive harder and be better to make him this proud of me.  There is nothing like it.”

The seven pound, 17 inch bundle of joy came at the perfect time for a busy NASCAR driver on an off weekend.  Starr will enjoy some well deserved down time at home with Kim and David Jr. before heading to his next race in Martinsville, VA – the home track for his VA-based NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Team HT Motorsports.

The No. 24 Zachry Toyota Tundra will race at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, March 28th.
