NASCAR Drivers Talk About Twitter and the New #NASCAR Platform

Greg Biffle (@gbiffle)

“Its important for fans to have access to our sport, see what’s going on and understand it better. I think the new fan has to be able to be integrated into this and see all the things going on and all of the behind-the-scenes things and I think Twitter is important for that.”

Jeff Burton (@RCR31JeffBurton)

“Well I certainly think that anything we can do to help our social media is a good thing. Social Media is such a huge part of everyday life anymore and NASCAR needs to be on everybody’s minds whenever they are thinking about Twitter or any kind of social media, so I think it is a positive for sure.”

Kyle Busch (@KyleBusch)

“I havent been able to check it out but it is really good I think it is great for the sport to extend into other branches and to be able to pick up, whether it is a new different or old audience I think it is all of those”

Landon Cassill (@landoncassill)

“Twitter is awesome it is very important for NASCAR to be involved with that, I am very proud to be a tweeter and to be a NASCAR driver and I really hope that we can as a sport and as an industry that we c an use it to our advantage.”

Q: Have you seen the #NASCAR page?

“Yeah I just love seeing all the tweets, good, bad and indifferent I am glad they show them all and I am glad that they show the personality of our fans and our drivers.”

Brad Keselowski (@keselowski)

“I think social media is a way to keep NASCAR engaged to the fanbase in ways that we’ve never seen before, especially as the sports world evolves. NASCAR has always been great for fan access and this is the next evolution of that.”

Joey Logano (@JoeyLogano)

“I think it is cool I have been hashtagging NASCAR, and I think it is cool that they do that and try to gain some more exposure to Twitter followers out there that aren’t necessarily following NASCAR enough yet, so I think that is going to help promote our sport. I think the drivers in our sport do a really good job tweeting and keeping up with what is going on with the race teams and what is going on off track, so I try to be up with all that and I think it is cool that they are doing all that, it is pretty neat.”

Juan Pablo Montoya (@jpmontoya)

“The reason I do Twitter is to give people an opportunity to know who I am outside a race car. People see the driver but they don’t see the person and I think it’s a good way for people to know what the drivers think and like.”
