Since we’re going to Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend for the Food City 500 NASCAR event, it wouldn’t be fair unless we count down The Top 5 Moments from “Thunder Valley” so here’s my take.
#5 Kyle Busch wins the first Car of Tomorrow race at Bristol (2007). In a crazy last lap duel with Jeff Burton, Busch edged him out to take his first Car of Tomorrow race win at Bristol.
#4 Kurt Busch wins at Bristol to take his first career victory (2002). With an ill handling race car and Ricky Rudd, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Bobby Labonte closing fast, Busch passed Jimmy Spencer for his first win in his career.
#3 Matt Kenseth wins at Bristol. (2013) With Kasey Kahne fighting through lapped traffic and closing on Kenseth, He couldn’t close on him as Kenseth won his 6th Sprint Cup Victory of the year.
#2 Kasey Kahne wins at Bristol. (2013) With Kyle Busch starting on the pole and Kahne starting 2nd, having a strong car, and leading 109 of the 500 laps. He won the March Bristol race.
#1 Kevin Harvick goes after Greg Biffle. (2002) After Biffle spun out Harvick in turn 3 Harvick had this to say. “If he wrecks me again I’ll be waiting for him.” Then he leaped over the pit wall, grabbed Biffle by the collar and had more than words.
That’s my look at the top 5 moments at “Thunder Valley.” Be sure to tune in this Sunday to see what action awaits on the track at 9 AM PT and 12 PM ET only on FOX.
