-A squirrel, running across the track, was nearly creamed by the race leading Kevin Harvick #4 car early on. Kevin thought it was a cat

-and there was concern on the Brad Keselowski team communications for a squirrel running around the track

-Jimmie Johnson had some sort of black strap flapping around stuck to the hood of his 48, turned out to be an unraveled tire

-Clint Bowyer to the garage with transmission issues, gear shifter broke off.

-Jeff Gordon’s 750th career start went south, when the 24 hit the wall with a flat tire while running 2nd

-Kyle Larson carried an onboard thermometer in his #42 car, at one point it read 154º, keep in mind a race car driver wears fire resistant under ware, the outer fire suit, gloves, helmet, fire skirt under the helmet, no AC in the car (helmet AC though) and really no windows open except the drivers side net.

-Ryan Truex spun and hit the commitment cone at the entrance to pit road.

-Marcos Ambrose blew a motor sending him home early

-Kyle Busch wrecked Tony Stewart putting the 14 in the wall, crumpled a front fender, and scraped the right side. Stewart later pounded the wall hard ending the 14’s day.

-Kurt Busch had a right rear go flat while running up front

-Brad Keselowski brought out a late caution running in the back of Jason Wise who slowed for Denny Hamlin

-Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. tangle with 2 laps to go with Kasey Kahne leading, his season in the balance,

-Kevin Harvick wrecks on the resulting restart after contact from Joey Logano, others involved
