He burst onto the NASCAR racing scene with his historic win at Martinsville Speedway in October of last year in the Kroger 200 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
It was historic indeed, as with that win Darrell Wallace Jr became the first African American to win a NASCAR sanctioned race since Wendell Scott in 1963 at Speedway Park in Jacksonville, Florida.
Since then, he’s won on dirt at Eldora Speedway and on a short track at Gateway Motor Sports Park. Continuing to race with KBM (Kyle Busch Motorsports) I see a lot of wins coming in Wallace Jr’s future.
On Friday the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races at Chicagoland Speedway for the Lucas Oil 225.
The 15th race of the 2014 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season begins with “NCWTS Setup” at 5:00 PM PT and 8:00 PM ET and the racing from Chicagoland starts at 5:30 PM PT and 8:30 PM ET on Fox Sports 1.
His teammate Kyle Busch won that race last year.
