As Martin Truex Jr. came through a hairpin final turn and approached the finish line at Sonoma Raceway in Sunday’s Toyota Save Mart 350, the 38-year old was making more history than just recording the 23rd victory of his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series career. Matt DiBenedetto kept his nose clean and drove smoothly in Sunday’s Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway for an emotional career-best fourth-place finish. Noah Gragson took the lead from Hailie Deegan on lap 1 of the Procore 200 at Sonoma Raceway, and he dominated nearly the entire first Stage of the race.

However, on a restart in the closing laps of the opening stage Gragson was flagged for jumping the start. This sent the leader of the race to pit road and to the back of the field.

Ryan Preece assumed the lead and looked to be cruising to a victory, that is until he was busted for jumping the restart himself on an overtime finish.

Gragson had routed and gouged his way to second, which made him the winner of the race when Preece’s restart was deemed illegal.

Daniel Hemric came home second, Austin Dillon was third. Cole Custer and David Mayhew rounded out the top-five finishers.

Preece was scored the last car on the lead lap in 20th.

Deegan did not lead a lap in the race and finished eighth, while the point leader — Derek Kraus — encountered numerous issues en route to a 19th place finish. Kraus now leads Deegan by just one point in the championship race.
