The freshman campaign is in the books for Bubba Wallace, and when you look back at the 2018 season for the young racer it can be summed up simply as a roller coaster ride.

Wallace began the season with a bang in the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. He rolled from the grid in the seventh position. There was a sense of feeling that when Michael McDowell announced he was moving to Front Row Motorsports at the end of the 2017 season, that the 33-year-old Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series veteran would have his best season to date in 2018. Daytona International Speedway announced that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be the honorary driver of the pace vehicle for the upcoming 61st-annual Daytona 500. Earnhardt will pace the field in a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. According to the release, this will be the first time that a truck has been the pace vehicle for The Great American Race.
