Sam Hornish Jr.’s season heading into Texas was like a college student in the mid 90’s after using a cheat code on Mortal Kombat — in other words flawless victory. Bowman’s lap clocked in at 183.418 mph. This marks Bowman’s first-ever NASCAR Nationwide Series pole, but with how fast the rookie has been so far through 2013, it definitely shouldn’t be his last.

Kyle Busch took the second position with a lap of 183.187 mph. Busch may have just missed the pole, but after three wins through his first five starts in 2013 he has to be the favorite for victory Friday night.
