NASCAR drivers are eager to compete in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway Saturday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. Fans with one of 97,912 tickets will enjoy short track skirmishing on the .75-mile D-shaped oval with 14 degree banking. Fans at home can view the bumping and banging on Fox.

Fourteen current Sprint Cup drivers have won at Richmond. Kyle Busch leads that group with four wins. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart each have three victories. Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer have been in RIR victory lane twice. Kasey Kahne , Matt Kenseth, Jeff Burton, Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman and Joe Nemechek have won once at the fast short track.

NASCAR’s STP 400 in Kansas had an abundance of crashes and cautions while providing a thrilling duel at the end between winner Matt Kenseth and Kasey Kahne.

Kenseth and Kahne had to work very hard the final 20 laps as one battled to hold on to first and the other nearly caught up at the finish line.

The action brought about big changes for some in the standings.

Jimmie Johnson maintained his position as point leader in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series after running third at Kansas Speedway. After coming in second for race eight in Kansas City, Kasey Kahne moved up five spots to take second place in the standings.

FYI WIRZ: Dale Earnhardt Jr., NASCAR top 5 rested for race 6 in Martinsville

Sprint Cup drivers and team members look forward to the few weeks in the long NASCAR Schedule when no race is planned. With a rare week off they can be either rested at home or weary from special vacation activities.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing took a break for Easter weekend, but engines will roar and tires will grip once again during the STP Gas Booster 500 at Martinsville Speedway this April 7.

NASCAR’s fifth race of 36, the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway, will roar to life with the green flag on March 24. Action on the 2-mile D-shaped oval track with 14 degree banking in Fontana, California can be experienced from one of 90,988 seats in the stands or viewed on FOX at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The California facility built on 568 acres is one of NASCAR’s longest at two miles. The wide track is favored by some of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers as it facilitates passing high and low with average race speeds of 145 mph plus.
