Keller Seeking His Own ‘Fortune 500’
After 499 starts – the most recent of which last Friday at Darlington that just barely came to fruition – Jason Keller is now poised to become the first driver in NASCAR Nationwide Series history to reach 500 career starts. His first attempt at the milestone comes Saturday at Dover.

Keller, already the series’ all-time starts leader, was eight shy of the mark entering the season. But driving with a start-up team presented plenty of growing pains, including missing races because of being forced to qualify on time. Keller went out 43rd at Darlington, his home track, and squeezed out the last spot on the starting grid by .021 seconds.

There have been 31 drivers that have matched or topped that mark in NASCAR Sprint Cup, including current full-time NASCAR Nationwide drivers Joe Nemechek (530) and Morgan Shepherd (514). Rick Crawford is the all-time starts leader in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with 327.

Kenny Wallace is the next driver who could reach 500 NASCAR Nationwide starts; he comes to Dover with 463.

Red Bull Racing Team officials announced today that due to a recent
diagnosis of a medical condition, Brian Vickers will not compete in this
weekend’s NASCAR racing activities at Dover International Speedway.

Vickers, age 26, driver of the No. 83 Red Bull Toyota, was hospitalized
Wednesday evening and continues to undergo testing and further evaluation.

Casey Mears has been selected to drive for the team this weekend.

“It is unfortunate that I will not be able to participate in the Dover race.
Casey is a good friend of mine, and I know he will do his best for the No. 83
team this weekend,” said Vickers.

“Our main concern right now is with Brian and his health and recovery”, said
Jay Frye, RBRT General Manager and Vice President. “All things are looking
good at the moment; this is just a minor setback. We appreciate Casey filling
in this weekend and know he will represent the team well.”

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 12, 2010) – NASCAR has issued penalties to the No. 38 team that competes in the NASCAR Nationwide Series as a result of rule violations during this past weekend’s event at Darlington Raceway.
The No. 38 car was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-J (any determination by NASCAR officials that the race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules) and 20A-12.3T (unapproved left front shock absorber) of the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rule Book. The infractions were discovered during post-race inspection on May 7.
Crew chief Stewart Cooper has been fined $10,000. Team owner Ralph Braun was penalized with the loss of 25 NASCAR Nationwide Series championship owner points and driver Kasey Kahne was docked 25 NASCAR Nationwide Series championship driver points.
