MOORSEVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 9, 2010) – No matter how big or successful the organization, each team involved in NASCAR had to have a first race. Petty Enterprises, the Wood Brothers, Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing all started somewhere with a debut event.

Friday night’s NextEra Energy Resources 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway will be the world premiere for Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM), the start-up organization owned by 24-year-old Kyle Busch, who has more than 60 wins in NASCAR’s top three divisions.

KBM will field two entries during the 2010 Camping World Truck Series season with Busch piloting the No. 18 Heluva Good!® Toyota Tundra whenever the Truck Series runs in companion with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, while Brian Ickler (pronounced “IKE-ler”) will drive in the non-companion events.

Tayler Malsam will drive the No. 56 Toyota Tundra for KBM full-time.

While KBM is new to NASCAR, the accomplishments of the people assembled show that, despite being a start-up team, it could well be a force to be reckoned with in 2010.

To say that KBM has assembled an all-star cast for its inaugural season might be a bit of an understatement when you consider that Busch, No. 18 crew chief Eric Phillips and KBM director of competition Rick Ren combined to win 16 of the 25 Truck Series races in 2009, when they were with other teams. Busch found victory lane seven times as a driver, Phillips was on top of the pit box for three wins with driver Mike Skinner, and Ren served as crew chief for Ron Hornaday’s six victories and his 2009 Truck Series championship.

The 2009 season also saw Busch, Ickler, Malsam, Ren, Phillips and Dan Stillman, crew chief for the No. 56 Tundra, combine for two championships, 34 wins, 140 top-10 finishes and 23 poles in their respective efforts in NASCAR’s top-three divisions and ARCA competition. In addition to Ren’s Truck Series championship, Busch won the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series title driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Many years from now, Busch will look back on Feb. 12, 2010, as the day his journey as a NASCAR owner began. And while no one knows what the future holds, judging by the people involved, it appears that future is very bright.

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (February 8, 2010) — Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) announced today Procter and Gamble along with retail partner Kroger Food Stores will feature their family of brands across the sheet metal of four-time Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday’s No. 33 Chevrolet at Bristol Motor Speedway as well as serve as the primary sponsor on Kevin Harvick’s No. 2 Chevrolet for both Martinsville (Va.) Speedway Truck Series events in 2010. The familiar yellow, blue, and orange circle will adorn the hood and quarter panels along with Kroger Food Stores and Procter and Gambles other featured brands, Bounce, Iams, Pringles, Charmin, Bounty and Downy.
Tide has a storied history in NASCAR as a sponsor going all the way back to their days with Darrell Waltrip. Who better than to continue on that legacy than 2007 Daytona 500 winner Harvick and four-time Truck Series champion Hornaday?

“It is going to be pretty cool to see those bright orange colors back on a race track,” said Hornaday. “My firesuit even looks like Darrell’s used to. I’m excited to be able to compete for Procter and Gamble and Kroger Food Stores. They have continued their support of KHI over the past few years and I am excited to have them on the No. 33 truck. We can’t wait to get to Bristol and build on my finish there last year.”

Procter and Gamble’s Key Account Manager Robin Bennett experienced the thrill of victory lane last spring. He understands the history and importance of aligning the famous Tide colors with Harvick and his organization.

“I’m so proud of what we accomplished last year, said Bennett. “Winning the race in Martinsville is a memory that I will never forget! What a great partnership we have with Kroger and the KHI team. We are excited to ride the “Tide” right into victory lane!”

Tim Plogger, Assistant Grocery Merchandiser with Kroger Food Stores echos Bennett’s sentiments.

“Kroger is proud of the relationship we have developed between our partner, Procter and Gamble and Kevin Harvick Incorporated. This relationship has opened the doors for our stores to offer unique products and promotions, centered around KHI’s Racing Program. We look forward to great sales promotions focused around KHI and several of their sponsor partners in 2010.”

KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick will also have the opportunity to climb behind the wheel of the Tide ride in 2010 at both Martinsville (Va.) Speedway Truck Series events.

“Having the opportunity to bring the Tide colors back to the track as a primary sponsor is an honor for KHI,” said Harvick. “I had good success in the Truck Series last year winning my first Truck race in Martinsville last spring while carrying Procter and Gamble and Kroger colors. I’m ready to get back to short-track racing and bring Tide back to victory lane. Who knows maybe I’ll even try the Icky Shuffle.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season kicks off February 12, 2010 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 8, 2010) – Danica Patrick will make her NASCAR Nationwide Series debut in the No. 7 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet this Saturday at Daytona International Speedway, JR Motorsports general manager Kelley Earnhardt announced today.

Patrick, Earnhardt, and team officials convened Sunday following the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) event at Daytona, in which Patrick raced to a sixth-place finish in her stock-car debut. The decision for Patrick to compete in the Daytona Nationwide Series event is supported by sponsor GoDaddy.com and JRM co-owners Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Eury Jr., and Rick Hendrick.

“To be the one driving that Go Daddy car at Daytona means a lot to me,” Patrick said. “Racing in the Nationwide Series race was my goal during this entire two-month preparation process, but we wanted to make sure it was the right thing to do. The ARCA race was a blast, and I’m not ready for my first Daytona Speedweeks to end just yet. I want more racing.”

Patrick’s entry in the Drive4COPD 300 puts her in a JR Motorsports tandem with Dale Earnhardt Jr., who will drive the No. 88 Hellmann’s Chevrolet. Patrick will continue her Nationwide Series schedule on Feb. 20 at Auto Club Speedway (Fontana, Calif.) and Feb. 27 at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway. Patrick is guaranteed starting positions in all three races based off JRM’s acquisition of points from CJM Racing’s No. 11 team, which finished 15th in the 2009 Nationwide Series owners point standings.

“I think Danica proved to everyone that she can compete in stock cars at a high level, and right now seat time is extremely important,” Kelley Earnhardt said. “She has worked extremely hard during the past two months for this opportunity. Her dedication and work ethic is infectious.”

GoDaddy.com will be the primary sponsor for 11 of Patrick’s 13 Nationwide Series races in 2010. The world’s largest domain name registrar also served as primary sponsor for Patrick’s ARCA debut last week. She started 12th in the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 and finished sixth, including a late rally from 23rd position all the way to the front pack in just under 20 laps.

“Danica’s got what it takes, and it’s obvious from the ARCA race NASCAR is right up her alley,” said Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. “She’s ready to drive the No. 7 GoDaddy.com Chevy in Daytona and is sure to give the fans an exciting show just like she did in the ARCA race.”
