The NASCAR community was left stunned Wednesday night by the news that driver Jason Leffler had been killed in an accident during a sprint-car race in New Jersey.

Leffler, 37, died in a crash at Bridgeport Speedway, a five-eighths mile high-banked dirt track in Swedesboro, N.J. He was pronounced dead shortly after 9 p.m. Eastern time, according to the Associated Press.

I’ve interviewed Jason many times in all my years of covering this sport, and it was like sitting down and talking with a friend.  His passion for racing came through in every interview, he will be missed. -Kerry

kyle-busch-darlington-victory-lane-nasacr-nationwide-series-darlington-2013What drivers do you think get the most airtime on TV coverage? Danica Patrick? Jimmie Johnson?

According to a new study, Kyle Busch had the most TV mentions (2,159) and interview time (15 minutes, 51 seconds) during the first 12 Sprint Cup races of the season.
The top five in mentions were Busch, Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne and Joey Logano.

The top five in interview time were Busch, Clint Bowyer, Carl Edwards, Kenseth, Kahne.
As for Danica, she ranked 17th in mentions, and 7th for interview time, so it’s not the All Danica, All The time Show on Sundays.
