KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Ricky Stenhouse Jr. rallied from two laps down to win Saturday’s Kansas Lottery 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Kansas Speedway and tighten the battle for the series championship.

During a green-white-checkered-flag finish that took the race six laps beyond its scheduled distance of 200 laps, Stenhouse surged to the front in the final turn after Kyle Busch ran out of fuel.

Carl Edwards, like Clint Bowyer, considers Kansas Speedway a home track. The Columbia, Mo., competitor also has yet to win here – his best a second-place finish in 2008. Having failed to qualify for the Chase, Edwards could be this week’s most likely “spoiler.” Edwards has posted six consecutive top-10 finishes (of eight) at the track and has led seven of the last 10 races. Roush Fenway Racing put all three of its Fords in the top 10 of May’s Kansas race.
