54th Annual Daytona 500 Postponed to Monday

UPDATE: The Daytona 500 start time has been moved from noon to 7 p.m. ET

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 54th annual Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway has been postponed due to rain showers and rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 27 at noon.
Tickets for Sunday’s race will be honored on Monday. Tickets for the Daytona 500 will also be on sale at the gate or the Daytona International Speedway ticket office.

The race will air on FOX Sports at noon.

How To Qualify For The Daytona 500

Qualifying for the Daytona 500 is unlike any other auto racing qualifying procedure. Drivers have two chances to qualify for the season-opening race, as opposed to the usual format of one qualifying session per event.
The first chance comes via Daytona 500 Qualifying, which will be held Sunday, Feb. 19. The other chance is the Gatorade Duel at Daytona, two 150-mile qualifying races held on Thursday, Feb. 23.
