DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (November 6, 2012) – When the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards™ get underway later this month in Las Vegas, superstar comedian, actor, producer, author and judge Howie Mandel will take the stage in another role he is extremely familiar with: show host.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards, which begin at 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 30 with live coverage on SPEED, Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, are the culmination of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion’s Week™ and will honor the 2012 champion along with the rest of the top 10 drivers in the final Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup™ standings.

2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart has been nominated in two categories for the 2012 ESPY Awards: “Best Championship Performance” and “Best Driver.” Voting in all categories ends tonight, Monday, July 9 at 11:59 p.m. ET, so fans still have a chance to cast their votes for Stewart. The ESPYs airs live on Wednesday, July 11 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN with host Rob Riggle.

New Mid-Race Leader Award For Leading Lap 100

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 54th annual Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 26 (FOX, 1 p.m. ET) – NASCAR’s biggest and most prestigious race – will carry a record purse of more than $19 million as well as a new contingency award that will payout $200,000 to the driver leading at the completion of Lap 100.

The posted awards for “The Great American Race” are $19,142,601 with the winner collecting a minimum of $1,431,325. The second, third, fourth and fifth-place finishers in the Daytona 500 will receive a minimum of $1,050,075, $759,600, $609,900 and $486,550.

Hendrick Motorsports Lands Three Indy Contingency Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Aug. 2, 2011) – Despite coming up one position shy in his bid for a fifth win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Jeff Gordon’s strong run in Sunday’s Brickyard 400 presented by BigMachineRecords.com sent a message that he is a serious challenger for a fifth championship, and earned the veteran driver two of Hendrick Motorsports’ three post-race contingency awards.

Gordon, who started the event in eighth, led four times for a total of 36 laps around the famed 2.5-mile track. Charging from 16th position to second in the final 20 laps, Gordon wheeled his No. 24 Drive To End Hunger Chevrolet to a solid second-place finish. He has scored top-10 finishes in 14 of the 18 races held at Indianapolis, the most by any driver.
