Who says you can’t go home? Brendan Gaughan and Dylan Kwasniewski are both doing just that this weekend when they get to compete in the Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Saturday’s race will mark Gaughan’s fourth NASCAR Nationwide Series start at the speedway while Kwasniewski will be making his debut. They are not the only hometown drivers competing in the race; Kyle Busch returns behind the wheel of the No. 54 looking his first series victory at Las Vegas.

Brendan Gaughan to Drive Full 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series Season for Richard Childress Racing

WELCOME, N.C. (October 18, 2013) –
Brendan Gaughan will compete full time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series during the 2014 season in Richard Childress Racing’s No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet Camaro.
Driving for RCR during the 2013 season, the Las Vegas native competed full time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, along with three Nationwide Series races. In total, Gaughan has made 84 Nationwide Series starts in his 17-year NASCAR racing career, and has two full seasons (2009 and 2010) of series competition on his resume since his NASCAR debut in 1997, earning one pole award, nine top-five and 22 top-10 finishes. Vegas Race Boasts Hometown Flavor
Plenty of local angles will pepper the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series field this weekend. There are the two usual suspects: The brothers Busch, Kurt and Kyle. Kyle won at Las Vegas in 2009. Kurt’s best finish at his home track was third in 2005.
Brendan Gaughan, a third Las Vegas native, will make a spot start this weekend. A NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular, Gaughan will drive the No. 33 Chevrolet this weekend for Richard Childress Racing. Gaughan ran fulltime in the series in 2004 and has one top five and four top 10s in 38 career starts.
