AVONDALE, Ariz. — Brad Keselowski has long since proven he’s an elite talent behind the wheel and a glib, if somewhat irreverent analyst in front of the microphone.
Now we can add prophecy to his list of accomplishments.
We can also add fisticuffs to the repertoires of the Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon crews, who brawled in the garage after Gordon wrecked Bowyer and dashed his championship hopes on the next to last scheduled lap.

FYI WIRZ: NASCAR’S Chase Has Shrunk Top Contenders To Three For Last Two Races

by Dwight Drum at Racetake.com
NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series has a season 36 races long that begins in winter and stretches about one month short of the start of the next winter. But that long schedule is down to two races with only three of the top leaders with a good shot at winning the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.
With 96 total points up for grabs, only two of 12 contenders are mathematically eliminated, but seven of that dozen are 58 to 83 points back with little chance of advancing.

Could Clint Bowyer Or Kasey Kahne Win The Championship?
on
Since the inception of the position-based points system in 1975, the largest deficit overcome with three races remaining was by Dale Earnhardt in 1990, when he caught Mark Martin to close out his fourth title.
Under the current points structure, 49 points roughly translates to 12 points. That means Clint Bowyer’s 26-point deficit and Kasey Kahne’s 29-point climb is daunting to say the least.
But is an historic comeback impossible? Of course not. No driver has been mathematically eliminated from championship contention – though a couple may be following Texas (any driver 97 points behind the leader after Texas will be officially eliminated).
Back to Bowyer and Kahne. Bowyer comes into this race with three top 10s in the last four Texas races, and boasts momentum at 1.5-mile tracks after capturing his first victory on an intermediate track at Charlotte. Kahne enters the weekend with two consecutive top 10s at Texas, along with a win there in 2006.
