Leaving Bristol, any driver with a 97-point lead over 11th place will clinch a Chase spot.

The top eight drivers are all mathematically able to reach the 97-point mark (including Kyle Busch, who already locked up at least a Wild Card spot, but could clinch a top-10 spot this weekend).

Kyle Busch pleaded guilty to driving a loaner Lexus LFA SuperCar, 128mph in a 45 zone back on May 24th in Moorsville North Carolina. He was charged with speeding and reckless driving and appeared in court Tuesday August 23rd 2011. He was given a 30 day suspended jail sentence, 30 hours of community service, 1 year of unsupervised probation, lost his drivers license for 45 days, and a $1000 fine. To answer your question, no he doesn’t need a valid drivers license to race in NASCAR.

Kyle Busch – “Obviously I had a lack of judgment and just made a mistake,” Busch said two days after being cited. “And I’m sorry for making that mistake. … Fortunately there was no one hurt, but that doesn’t make any kind of an excuse for what happened and for my lack in judgment for what I did.”
