DENVER, Colo. (Oct. 10, 2012) – Former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Kurt Busch will make his Furniture Row Racing debut in Saturday night’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The agreement with the Denver-based Furniture Row Racing calls for Busch to drive the team’s No. 78 Chevrolet in the final six Sprint Cup races of 2012 and during the 2013 campaign.

“This weekend begins a new chapter in my racing career and also a new chapter for Furniture Row Racing,” said Busch, who captured the NASCAR title in 2004, the first year of the Chase. “The excitement level about driving the No. 78 Furniture Row/Farm American Chevrolet is at a high pitch and I can’t wait to get started.

DOVER, Del. (Sept. 28, 2012) – In a move to accelerate Furniture Row Racing’s preparations for the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, Kurt Busch will take over the team’s driving duties beginning with the Oct. 13th Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Busch, who was announced earlier in the week as Furniture Row Racing’s new driver for 2013, will replace Regan Smith in the No. 78 Chevrolet.

He’s not flashy, he’s not considered the greatest driver in the garage area, but Regan Smith put Furniture Row Racing on the map. A once laughable organization, which struggled just to make races, is now a respectable up-and-coming team in the Sprint Cup Series. It however looks like Furniture Row is ready to move forward without the man who has delivered their only victory to this point – Regan Smith.

Furniture Row Racing has been a Sprint Cup Series team since 2005, and in the eight years since being founded they have racked up two top-five finishes, and seven top-10 finishes – none of which have been recorded without Regan Smith behind the wheel. From 2005 to 2008 the team struggled with little positives with drivers such as Kenny Wallace, Joe Nemechek and Jimmy Spencer behind the wheel.

DENVER, Colo. (Sept. 24, 2012) – Furniture Row Racing announced today that Kurt Busch has been hired to drive the team’s No. 78 Chevrolet during the 2013 Sprint Cup season.

Busch, a former NASCAR Cup champion, will replace Regan Smith, who joined Furniture Row Racing at the
beginning of the 2009 season.

“Though we have made strides as a resourceful single-car Sprint Cup team, we are not where we want to be, which led us to the difficult decision of making a driver change as we move forward,” said Furniture Row Racing’s general manager Joe Garone. “Kurt’s exceptional driving talent has the capacity to take a team to another level. We look forward to having Kurt join our Denver-based organization and feel his racing experience will play an important role as we plan ahead to 2013.”
