With his overtime victory in Sunday’s FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks at Dover International Speedway, Johnson became the fifth driver to win 10 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at a single track, joining Richard Petty, David Pearson, Darrell Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt Sr. in sharing that distinction. mattkenseth500Current points leader, Matt Kenseth, is set to earn a career milestone this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway when he looks to make his 500th Sprint Cup Series start in Sunday’s Sylvania 300. Kenseth made his debut in the series in 1998, and has spent 14 full seasons at NASCAR’s top level. Kenseth will be driving a special 500th start paint scheme aboard his No. 20 Home Depot Husky Toyota for this weekend’s race events in Loudon, and will be looking to earn his seventh win of the season in this milestone start.

With three Daytona 500 winners in the fold, this Sunday’s race could mark the 200th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory for Hendrick Motorsports. HMS has been 199 and counting since Jimmie Johnson went to Victory Lane at Kansas Speedway on Oct. 9, 2011.
• Jeff Gordon is a three-time Daytona 500 winner. Should he win Sunday, he’ll match NASCAR Hall of Famer Cale Yarborough for second-most 500 wins.
• Johnson won the Daytona 500 in 2006. Richard Petty tops that list with seven wins.
• Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a master of restrictor plate racing, winning seven NASCAR Sprint Cup races at Daytona and Talladega.

HAMPTON, Ga. — Jeff Gordon dominated much of the rain-delayed AdvoCare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Tuesday and then won a duel with Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jimmie Johnson for his third Sprint Cup Series win of the season.

Gordon held about a 2-second lead with 20 laps remaining, but Johnson, who rallied from early struggles, closed on Gordon’s bumper with 11 laps remaining. He then dogged Gordon over the final 10 laps, trying repeatedly to get by his teammate.
