Jimmie Johnson saves from almost wrecking twice at Phoenix International Raceway
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 10, 2013) – Jimmie Johnson leads Matt Kenseth by 28 points in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings, going into Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Regardless of any other driver’s finish, Johnson will clinch his sixth NASCAR Sprint Cup championship with a finish of 23rd or better at HMS; or 24th or better and at least one lap led; or 25th or better and the most laps led in Sunday’s Ford EcoBoost 400 (3 p.m. on ESPN, Motor Racing Network Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

The NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup championship got tighter in Texas as race winner Jimmie Johnson nudged Matt Kenseth for the lead by a scant seven points.

Only 712 miles of racing remain before the 2013 Chase for the Sprint Cup is over.
A total of 96 points are up for grabs between the first lap at Phoenix International Raceway and the last lap at Homestead-Miami Speedway so Johnson and Kenseth will be wary of points as they both reach for the prized trophy.
