Ah, but what will be announced today? (cough 42 Cup, clear throat)
Fresh off his sixth top-five finish of the season, Kyle Larson heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the first time behind the wheel of his No. 32 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He finished sixth in last year’s truck series race at AMS. He currently holds a 67-point lead over Alex Bowman in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year battle with 13 top-10 finishes.

With the ascent of Kasey Kahne and Joey Logano to the top 10, the provisional Chase Wild Card picture has changed yet again. Martin Truex Jr. (14th) and Ryan Newman (15th) hold the winning hands this week. Newman’s only top-five finish at Atlanta came in March 2004, while Truex’s only top five came in last year’s AdvoCare 500.
