STATEMENT: 10 fans were injured when a nylon rope fell over the grandstands in Turn 4 on lap 121 of tonight’s race, 7 fans were treated for minor cuts and scrapes at on-site care centers and released. 3 people were transported to area hospital, or further evaluation. The rope was a guide for the network TV Camera overhead camera system. — Charlotte Motor Speedway

2014 NASCAR Hall Of Fame Class Announced
Flock, Ingram, Jarrett, Petty and Roberts Comprise List Of New Inductees
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 22, 2013) – NASCAR announced today the inductees who will comprise the 2014 class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The five-person group – the fifth in NASCAR Hall of Fame history – consists of Tim Flock, Jack Ingram, Dale Jarrett, Maurice Petty and Fireball Roberts. Next year’s Induction Day is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, broadcast on Fox Sports 1 from Charlotte, N.C.
The 54-member NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Panel met today in a closed session in Charlotte, N.C., to vote on the induction class of 2014. NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France made the announcement this evening in the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s “Great Hall.”
Speed Thrills: NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race Week Unlike Any In All Of Sports
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 15, 2013) – History collides with the present, as names including Johnson, Gordon and Busch build upon a foundation laid by the likes of Waltrip, Yarborough and Earnhardt.
This Saturday night, the most thrilling all-star exhibition in all of sports roars under the lights at the historic Charlotte Motor Speedway, with the 29th running of the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. There are no points in this one, but one major prize – a $1 million payout to the victor courtesy of Sprint.
In 1985, NASCAR held its inaugural all-star clash, with Darrell Waltrip coming home first among a field of 12. This year, 22 cars will take the green on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET, live on SPEED, Motor Racing Network Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Nineteen of those drivers have already locked up a spot; three more will earn entry moments before driver introductions.
