INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Even with a car that was clearly the class of the field, Kyle Busch had some anxious moments in the closing laps of Saturday’s Indiana 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

That Busch beat runner-up Brian Scott to the finish line by 2.141 seconds belies the difficulty Busch experienced on the final restart on Lap 95 of 100, when Joey Logano squeezed Busch into Turn 1 and allowed Scott to take the lead.

After harrying Scott for nearly three laps, Busch finally made the winning pass, putting an exclamation point on a dominant performance that saw him lead 92 laps.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — With two laps remaining in Friday night’s Subway Firecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway, Matt Kenseth had a choice to make.

He could go with the lane he preferred — the outside — or the driver who had pushed him for the previous 20 laps, James Buescher.

Kenseth chose Buescher, and the decision paid off with the 27th NASCAR Nationwide Series victory of his career.

If you noticed that a number of cars were late answering the bell for opening Sprint Cup practice on Thursday, look no farther than unapproved parts NASCAR inspectors found on 16 cars.

NASCAR required more than a third of the Coke Zero 400 field to change out non-conforming spacers that support the hinge bars of the roof flaps on the cars. The flaps are designed to keep cars from getting airborne in the event of a spin.
