Joey Logano returns behind the wheel of the No. 18 Toyota at Kansas Speedway. He’s looking to capture his ninth NASCAR Nationwide Series win this season, and third consecutive win. In his previous four starts at Kansas he has two victories and hasn’t finished any further back than seventh. Logano has never won three consecutive series victories. Teammate Kyle Busch is the only other driver to have more than eight wins in a Nationwide Series season as a part-time driver.

Logano is also trying to win a record-tying fourth Nationwide Series Owners Championship for Joe Gibbs Racing. Richard Childress Racing is the Owners Championship record holder. Currently, Joe Gibbs Racing has a 19-point lead over Richard Childress Racing’s No. 2 Chevrolet with four races until season’s end.

The championship battle between Elliott Sadler and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is down to the wire with five races remaining and statistics show Charlotte could prove to be pivotal. In 11 starts, Sadler has only led one lap to Stenhouse’s 34 laps in six starts.

Despite not topping the laps-led category Sadler has proven he knows how to get around the 1.5-mile oval speedway with three top-five and four top-10 finishes.

Stenhouse won the pole at Charlotte in May of 2011.
Sadler increased his lead over Stenhouse to nine points following last month’s race in Dover. Stenhouse holds the second spot followed by Austin Dillon (-25), Sam Hornish Jr. (-60) and Justin Allgaier (-128).

Despite leading 377 more laps than Elliott Sadler to date this season, last year’s champion Ricky Stenhouse remains on the outside looking in with five races remaining.

A solid fourth-place finish at Dover allowed Sadler to increase his lead over Stenhouse to nine points. Stenhouse Jr. holds the second spot followed by Austin Dillon (-25), Sam Hornish (-60), and Justin Allgaier (-128).

The battle between Sadler and Stenhouse is destined to go down to the wire with both having victories at upcoming tracks on the schedule. Sadler won earlier this season at Phoenix International Raceway while Stenhouse took home the trophy at Texas Motor Speedway.

DOVER, Del. — The steep concrete banks of Dover International Speedway aside, Saturday’s OneMain Financial 200 was hardly a cliffhanger, as Joey Logano dominated the proceedings from start to finish in winning his seventh NASCAR Nationwide Series race of the season.

Momentarily, at least, a caution on Lap 177 for Tim Andrews’ blown engine injected a modicum of suspense, but Logano reasserted his superiority after a restart on Lap 182 and pulled away for his second victory at the Monster Mile and the 16th of his career.
