Richard Petty Motorsports Signs Sam Hornish, Jr.
Former Indianapolis 500 Champion and NASCAR Winner to Drive No. 9 Ford

CONCORD, N.C. (October 8, 2014) – Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) announced today that three-time IndyCar Series Champion turned NASCAR winner, Sam Hornish, Jr. will join the storied organization to drive the No. 9 Ford in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series full-time in 2015. Hornish, Jr. joins RPM from Joe Gibbs Racing where he competed part-time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this season scoring one win and four Top-Five finishes in only eight starts. Richard Petty Motorsports Announces Driver Update to No. 9 Ford Team

CONCORD, N.C. (September 13, 2014) – Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) announced today the No. 9 team will move forward with a new driver in 2015. Marcos Ambrose, who has been with RPM since 2011, has informed the organization that he will return to his native home of Australia in 2015. This was a personal decision by Ambrose. CONCORD, N.C. (August 4, 2014) – Five-time Watkins Glen winner Marcos Ambrose will double down this weekend at the famed New York road course. With support from STANLEY, Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) will enter Ambrose in the No. 09 STANLEY Racing Ford in Saturday’s Nationwide Series Zippo 200. Ambrose is a three-time winner of the event, winning consecutive races from 2008-2010. Ambrose will then compete in his familiar No. 9 STANLEY Racing Ford on Sunday looking for his third Sprint Cup Series win at the track. (February 26, 2013) – After further evaluation by two different doctors in North Carolina, it has been determined that Richard Petty Motorsports driver Michael Annett has suffered a fracture and dislocation of his sternum.  He will immediately undergo surgery for his injuries in Charlotte.  He suffered the injury as a result of an accident during Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series event in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Annett will not be able to compete for an indefinite amount of time as he heals from the surgery. Richard Petty Motorsports driver Aric Almirola will drive the No. 43 Pilot Flying J Ford this weekend at the Phoenix International Raceway as the team evaluates its options moving forward.

Richard Petty Motorsports’ primary concern is the health of Annett and getting him the proper treatment he needs for a full recovery.

Concord, N.C. (November 17, 2012) – Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) confirmed today its current drivers, Marcos Ambrose and Aric Almirola, have re-signed for the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. Ambrose will enter his third season driving for the organization. He will again be behind the wheel of the No. 9 Ford with partners Stanley and DEWALT. Almirola will begin his second season as the driver of the No. 43 Ford with primary support from partner Smithfield Foods and its family of brands, Smithfield, Eckrich, Farmland and Gwaltney.
