Michael Waltrip Racing AnnouncementDAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 23, 2014) – NASCAR announced Thursday that it has reinstated Ty Norris, an executive with Michael Waltrip Racing. Norris had been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR last Sept. 9 as part of the penalties assessed to MWR following the sanctioning body’s review of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race Sept. 7 at Richmond International Raceway. Norris remains on indefinite NASCAR probation.

NASCAR LOGODAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 14, 2013) – NASCAR has announced a set of officiating revisions to further reinforce its in-race rules and regulations following a week-long review of events that transpired during last Saturday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway.

NASCAR officials met with drivers, owners and crew chiefs this afternoon at Chicagoland Speedway to address these revisions that will take effect beginning with Sunday’s opening race of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The revisions focus on assisting the competitors to understand what is acceptable and what is not acceptable in NASCAR’s sole determination when it comes to officiating teams’ racing during an event. Joey Logano and David Gilland’s radio chatter is now being investigated by NASCAR from Richmond as well now to allow Joey to pass Gilliland and gain that all important 1 point needed to get into the Chase.  Although they are not teammates, they are both Ford’s and Joey did finish 1 spot ahead of David after the 38’s lap times dropped off by almost a second….hmmmmmm
