PASTRANA TO DELAY NATIONWIDE DEBUT UNTIL 2012

Cornelius, N.C. – Pastrana Waltrip Racing announced today that Travis Pastrana will not make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut until the 2012 season due to injuries suffered during the 17th annual X Games last week.

The 11-time X Games gold medalist broke his right ankle and foot while attempting a Rodeo 720 with a back flip during the Best Trick competition in Los Angeles, forcing him to miss his scheduled NASCAR Nationwide Series debut at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis last Saturday.

Some of this week’s quick headlines, because we know you want to get on with your day!

Brad Keselowski was taken to the hospital after a hard head-on crash into the wall while testing at Road Atlanta. According to his Twitter account “Hit wall head on in a 155mph corner after brakes failed. Airlifted to hospital.” He later said “Looks like I’ll be ok to race this weekend. Blue deuce, not so much. I’ll keep u posted.” Follow Brad @Keselowski on Twitter and we are @thefinallap

Nashville Superspeedway will not host any NASCAR events in 2012 and might be sold according to owner Dover Motorsports. Simply put they are not filling even the relatively small grandstands that hold 25,000 fans. NASCAR has not yet said where all of those races might be relocated to.

We’ve been waiting to see the NASCAR debut of X-Games superstar Travis Pastrana, and it was supposed to happen this past weekend, however on Friday he broke two bones during the Moto X Best Trick category. So his debut has been put on hold, despite the fact he still competed on Sunday during the RallyCross event at X-Games.
