Kyle Busch’s winning ways in the NASCAR Nationwide Series may have taken a one year hiatus in 2012, but he is now re-writing the history books in 2013. Sam Hornish Jr.’s season heading into Texas was like a college student in the mid 90’s after using a cheat code on Mortal Kombat — in other words flawless victory. Through five race Hornish had racked up four top-fives, and five top-10 finishes and he had a firm stranglehold on the NASCAR Nationwide Series point standings.

Kurt Busch came just shy of setting a new track record at Texas Motor Speedway, but it still looked like the pole for the NRA 500 would be a nice consolation prize — but then his younger brother Kyle Busch knocked him off the provisional pole late in the session.
