NASCAR fines, gives probation, and stern warning to Kyle Busch
on
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 7, 2011) – NASCAR has fined Kyle Busch $50,000 and placed him on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31 for his actions during the Nov. 4 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.
Kyle Busch violated Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) of the 2011 NASCAR Rule Book. NASCAR took immediate action, parking Busch for the remainder of Friday night’s event and maintaining the parked position for the NASCAR Nationwide and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway. On Monday, the parking directive was lifted by NASCAR.
In issuing Monday’s penalty, NASCAR went on to say that “if during the remaining NASCAR events in 2011 there is another action by the competitor that is deemed by NASCAR officials as detrimental to stock car racing or to NASCAR, or is disruptive to the orderly conduct of an event, the competitor will be suspended indefinitely from NASCAR.”

Roush Fenway claims 12th win of 2011 season; Increases Nationwide Points lead
NEWTON, IOWA (August 6, 2011) – Roush Fenway Racing posted the wildest one-two finish in team history Saturday night at Iowa Speedway, with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. posting his second career NASCAR win; sweeping both races at Iowa this season. The win is Roush Fenway’s 12th NASCAR win in 2011 and their eighth in the Nationwide Series this season.
“This was just an awesome job from this No. 6 team,” said Stenhouse Jr. “They work harder than anyone out there; all the guys at the shop and everyone at Roush Yates engines. I have to thank the good Lord above; he’s helped us through so much. I have to thank Nationwide Insurance for giving us the opportunity to come out here and put on a show for all these awesome fans. I just wish we had Blackwell Angus Beef and Cargill on this car tonight.”
Stenhouse and Roush Fenway teammate Carl Edwards engaged in a heated battle throughout the course of the race, with Stenhouse using a dramatic three-wide move to slice his No. 6 Ford Mustang through lapped traffic, eventually passing Edwards and taking the lead with 22 laps remaining.

Q&A – Brad Keselowski from Pocono
on
BRAD KESELOWSKI (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger)
HOW ARE YOU FEELING? “Pretty good, glad to be back in the race car. It didn’t look like, for a little while, I was going to get to do that.”
HOW DIFFICULT IS IT FOR YOU IN THE RACE CAR? “It’s been easier at times. In general, I’m not that bad. There are some things down there that don’t feel real good. It took a little effort to make it all work inside the car. I’ve got a good car, so it will be alright.”
OTHER DRIVERS HAVE COMMENTED THAT THE ACCIDENT WAS REALLY BAD; HOW BAD ARE THE INJURIES TO YOUR FOOT AND LEG? “It wasn’t good. The biggest thing is that I felt lucky that was all that was tore up. I hit about as hard as you can hit in one of these cars and I’m still here somehow. As a driver, probably one of your worst nightmares is going through a corner, like that one was, without a safer barrier, without any of the stuff that we’ve got used to and got accustomed to, without brakes. And knowing that I had two or three seconds staring at a wall, knowing that I was going to hit it about as hard as you possibly could. Probably less comforting was knowing that it was a temporary wall and on the other side was trees, so I figured I was going to end up in the trees. Somehow, I made it through it, broke the wall down and came flying through on the other side. I was just really, really lucky.”
