Jimmie Johnson may be second in the series standings but he’s also finished 30th or worse in two of the last three races. The latest disappointment was this past Saturday at Darlington when he finished 36th. If things improve at Dover, it should surprise no one; Johnson swept last season’s two Dover races, posting a perfect Driver Rating of 150 in the spring race.

Tony Stewart is trolling at 18th in the standings. He’s that low because of a current stretch of six consecutive races of finishing outside the top 15.

Stewart has a Dover season sweep to his credit, as well. It happened 10 years ago.
