Johnson Looking For First Road-Course Win – As Are Some Others
Jimmie Johnson has won the series championship the last four years. But he has never won on a road course in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
He’s not alone.
Other top drivers still seeking a road-course breakthrough: 2003 series champion Matt Kenseth; 2004 series champion Kurt Busch; Jeff Burton; Greg Biffle; Dale Earnhardt Jr.; Carl Edwards; Denny Hamlin.
But we need a couple of asterisks, please. Both Edwards and Hamlin have road-course wins in the NASCAR Nationwide Series – Edwards at Montreal last year, Hamlin at Mexico City in 2006.
