Actually, that engine reference was just for the sake of a good headline, and by no means aimed at pinning Juan Pablo Montoya’s disappointing season thus far on engine troubles.
Whatever the reasons for Montoya’s current 20th-place position in the standings, once thing is certain – he needs to step it up, if he’s going to make the Chase.
Which brings us to Infineon Raceway, where Montoya got his first – and thus far only – NASCAR Sprint Cup victory, in 2007. Another win could jump-start Montoya’s season in a big way.
