Over the next few Sprint Cup Series races (Texas Motor Speedway, Darlington Raceway, and Kansas Speedway) these drivers need to improve over these three races.
Let’s begin our look. Kasey Kahne: Kahne only got one win last season at Bristol and didn’t have the equipment to run up front. Darlington and Kansas are a couple of his best tracks (He ran up front the whole race and finished second to Matt Kenseth last October) so look for Kahne to run good at those two tracks coming up on the cup schedule.
Kurt Busch: After Busch switched teams and went with Stewart Haas Racing some were optimistic about how well Busch would do in 2014. He ran around 3rd to 5th place in the Daytona 500 and got in The Chase last week with his win at Martinsville Speedway because NASCAR’s new Chase rules package that says if you win a race in one of the 26 races before The Chase, you are practically guaranteed a spot in NASCAR’s Chase, provided a driver stays inside the top 30 in points.
Finally it’s Martin Truex Jr: After a blown engine canceled his hope of a Daytona 500 trophy, He kind of improved over the next few races. He ran mid-pack at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and ran good in practice at Auto Club Speedway.
That’s my look at the three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers that need improvement over the next few races in 2014.
