Ross Chastain’s Truck Fails Post-Race Inspection, Brett Moffitt Awarded the Win

It is something that we knew was a possibility as soon as NASCAR announced that post-race inspection would take place at the track, but it’s a real gut punch to Ross Chastain and the Niece Motorsports team.

After winning the M&M’s 200 on Sunday, Chastain’s No. 44 truck was found to be too low on the front end in post-race inspection. As a result, the win and the $50,000 triple truck challenge bonus have been stripped from Chastain and awarded to second place finisher Brett Moffitt.

This is Moffitt’s first victory of the 2019 season.

Niece Motorsports can appeal the post-race inspection penalty up until Monday at 12pm ET, according to NASCAR.
