The display of appreciation for three-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion and 19-year veteran broadcaster Darrell Waltrip continues during Waltrip’s final week of working for FOX Sports.

Denny Hamlin unveiled the throwback paint scheme that he personally designed for this year’s Bojangle’s Southern 500, and it is the scheme that Waltrip ran from 1991 to 1995 with Western Auto as the sponsor.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is honoring the exact same scheme this week in Sonoma Raceway, which marks Waltrip’s last race in the booth for FOX.

Hamlin will run the scheme in September.
