Nearly two handfuls of cars — nine to be exact — have failed Sunday morning’s post-qualifying inspection at Pocono Raceway for the Gander RV 400.
Among the drivers who will start at the rear due to failing the first go-around in inspection are: Austin Dillon (was scheduled to start fifth), Jimmie Johnson (sixth), William Byron (eighth), Michael McDowell (17th), Ryan Blaney (20th), Chris Buescher (28th), Corey LaJoie (30th), Ross Chastain (35th) and Reed Sorenson (36th).
Currently, the penalty for these cars is to start at the rear of the field, but if they fail multiple times going forward the penalties could increase.
This article will be updated as the teams make it through inspection further.
