The NASCAR world has been buzzing about Kevin Harvick’s $50,000 bounty for any full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver who would sneak down into the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series and beat Kyle Busch in one of his remaining four starts left in 2020.
Harvick came up with the bounty idea, after Busch captured his seventh-straight NASCAR Truck Series win this past weekend in Las Vegas. Busch’s win streak dates back to the end of the 2018 season.
The ante was upped, when Gander RV & Outdoors’ Marcus Lemonis raised the stakes to $100,000.
Well, it seems the sport’s Most Popular Driver — Chase Elliott — is ready to battle for the cash, as he fired off a tweet on Thursday that he’ll run the upcoming Truck Series event at his hometown track, Atlanta Motor Speedway.
According to the Tweet, Elliott will run for GMS Racing in the race.
Elliott has not run a Truck Series race since a win at Martinsville, the third race of the 2017 NASCAR Truck Series season. Overall, Elliott has two-career Truck Series wins in just 12 starts.
Now, that we know Elliott will compete, the question is: Will he be the only NASCAR Cup Series driver who attempts to take the money from Harvick and Lemonis?
