Richard Childress Racing Resurgence

RCR Resurgence The Real Deal
After the first week of this season, it was intriguing. After two weeks, it was interesting. Now, three weeks into the season, the apparent resurgence of Richard Childress Racing has moved into another “place.”

This resurgence looks like the real deal. Going into Atlanta, RCR drivers Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer are 1-2 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings with teammate Jeff Burton seventh. In addition, Harvick was talking tough this past weekend at Las Vegas, about challenging the dominance of four-time defending series champion Jimmie Johnson.

A significant sidebar for this week: Atlanta is where Harvick got his first NASCAR Sprint Cup victory, in March 2001, just weeks after replacing the late Dale Earnhardt in RCR’s top ride.
